1991-1999: The BFI NEERI Award

In collaboration with the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI), Burhani Foundation instituted The BFI-NEERI Award for outstanding and socially relevant research & development in environmental technologies. Every year, nominations were invited from various technical and scientific institutes to recognize the contribution of Indian environmental scientists towards achieving environmental awareness goals.

2010: ‘Climate Change and You’ Conference

2011: Project SOS (Save Our Sparrows)

To raise public awareness and inspire action on the declining number of house sparrows, Burhani Foundation launched Project SOS – Save Our Sparrows. The foundation celebrated the 100th birthday of His Holiness Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin by distributing 52,000 bird-feeders across the world and setting a new Guinness World Record and Limca Record.

2018: Zero Waste Ashara Mubaraka Event

The Dawoodi Bohra community conducted the largest ‘Zero Waste Religious Programme’ in Indore during the community’s annual Ashara Mubarak a sermons. Nearly 200,000 attendees were encouraged and guided to refuse, reduce, reuse and recycle both dry and wet waste.
